A pilot program using Datamatrix Technology is under implementation by EESL, the Super ESCO under the Govt. of India, targeting 100,000 Pumps
Water-Energy-Food Nexus
Nothing is more overlooked and more urgent than improving the efficiency and sustainability of freshwater water use for agriculture in India. India uses 89% of its fresh water and 24% of its electricity for Agriculture, engaging 59% of its population. Low water use efficiency and unsustainable water and energy use in agriculture, aggravated by shortsighted policies has brought a large part of the country to a brink of a water crisis.
Datamatrix provides 'Smart Pump Control Panels' with integrated metering and optimised pump controls for sustainable irrigation management. It monitors the energy and water use at a farm level and keeps track of its aquifer conditions, through its energy use data. It connects to Datamatrix Cloud for integrated resource management. This facilitates optimised use of water and energy use that improves agricultural productivity and sustainability.
The technology enables community-driven participatory water management. It brings stakeholders together and makes them accountable for sustainability, using near real-time consumption data and water availability. This platform can be availed by communities, Governments, Institutions, NGO and CSR, for solving the complex water-energy-food nexus challenges.
